Goodbye Monday Couple - ONE SHOT

Goodbye Monday Couple – ONE SHOT

Gary slowly look through the pictures from the photo album. Flipping through the book, accompanied by the soft jazz music playing in the recording room. Each one holds so many memories and laughers; which belongs to just two of them. The memories just gushed in like waterfall crazily. As he sips through the wine, he felt a sense of sadness yet relief at the same time.

It was one the biggest decision he made in life. More than 15 years ago, he chose to get into music, and then later, was getting into variety show. And today he chose to quit it.

The fame and recognition he gained through Running Man was something he could not repay back to the PD that initially approached him. Without Running Man, his works would not be recognized as much now, as he isn’t a mainstream idol or singer. He just love making his own style of music, standing out in his own style in the music industry.

As he flips through the pages in the photo album, he can’t help but to smile looking at those wonderful memories. Jihyo’s smile is just so endearing, so genuine, and so real. He always hears his fan saying that, Ji Hyo is the most comfortable around Gary, maybe it is really true. As pictures won’t lie.

His phone showed 11.30pm when he heard the front door unlocking.

“Oh?”

He left the album on the table and got out of the swivel chair and headed outside.

Standing in the middle of the room, it was a lady who knows the password to his studio very well; Ji Hyo. She was standing there in an oversize grey coloured long sleeved fleece shirt, top with a red beanie. She also covered her face with black sunglasses and mask.

“Did anyone see you?” He asked almost immediately.

She just shook her head.

Gary broke into a smile. He stepped forward and pulled in for a big hug. The lady too, comfortably fit herself into his big hug.

Gary broke off the hug and made the Ji Hyo looked at him. “What brought you here? You didn’t tell me you’re coming.”

The lady took off the mask and sunglasses that is covering up her face.

“I saw you barely touched your food earlier during dinner. So I brought you food.” She raised up her right hand to show what she brought along in that secretive attire. She broke into a smile, and a perfect eye smile.

How can I not fall and give up for this girl?

Gary peered into the bags on her hand. He can smell jjajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and tang su yuk (sweet sour pork).

He was shock at the choice of food. “At this hour?”

“Anytime is a good time for jjajangmyeon,” She aegyo-ed back. “Come, let’s eat.”

They set up the table, and made themselves comfortable in the same place where they filmed earlier. Gary took the chopstick and started mixing the jjajangmyeon sauces.

“You know, I am not trying to be cheesy…but eating with you at this hour…” Gary said suddenly.

“What?”

“How should I describe it..?”

Ji Hyo gave him a curious look.

He turned to her and looked straight into her eyes. “I am just happy. Contended. So blissful.”

“Tsk.” She jeered at his words. But in her heart, she felt really warmth and happy too. It was simple, just the two of them, without any cameras, without any weird mission of ‘fake’ date, without any other members whom are always asking them to get together.

“Oppa be truthful, did you cried just now reading our letters?”

Trying to be masculine, he maintained his composure. “Men shed blood but not tears.” He said nonchalantly.

“You sure?” Ji Hyo frowned at him.

“Y-Yes.”

“Are you?”

“No—Yes…a little”

“Just a little?”

“Well, a while.” Gary eventually gave up trying to protect his little men pride.

“Awwww. Our oppa is really sad to leave us…”

She leaned forward and gave him another big hug.

“Well, I really owed it to Running Man…without the members and the staff, I am nobody today. A lot of nice memories just rushed in, and so my manly tears just fell.”

Ji Hyo broke off the hug and cupped his sad face in her delicate hands. “It’s okay to hide in front of the cameras but never hide in front of me. Okay?”

“Arasso.” He smiled back.

“You can always come back as a guest! Maybe our PD will keep calling you!”

“Well I don’t mind, as long as I am no longer the fixed member…”

“Oppa…I-I know you’re doing this for us...” She said, looking down, feeling guilty.

Seeing her like this, Gary dropped his chopsticks and grabbed her hands. He caressed it and made her look up at him.

“Ji Hyo-yah. I don’t know what’s in store for our future, but rest assured that I won’t regret it. Because I know I have to make an effort for us. For us to happen.”

“I know it’s a big sacrifice for us...” She trailed off.

“Well, I am going to see everyone often too! It’s not like I am not seeing the others anymore again. Most importantly, it’s us. Plus I get to focus more on my music now.”

“Really? Cause sometimes I was thinking maybe I should be the one to—”

“Shhh. You’re the ace of the show. You have to be there. The fans may be sad, but they won’t know what’s in store for them.” He chuckled slightly and pinched slightly on Ji Hyo’s nose. She just smiled back faintly.

Ji Hyo finally felt much better, despite being in daze when Gary initially mentioned this to her. They argued a bit on his decision, but she knew his character. Once he set his heart on it, he’ll achieve it. So from now on, she’ll support her as the woman behind him, to support his music; his life.

They chatted about the episode earlier as they ate the supper. Then Gary browsed through the articles and came across Ji Hyo’s press conference of her latest drama.

“MC ended?” Gary smiled mischievously while checking out Ji Hyo’s expression. She looked up from her phone, with a mong look.

“Of course. Because it must end so that we—can.…” Ji Hyo trailed away.

“We can….?” Gary wanted to hear from her. “Finish your sentence.”

“Well—theoretically we are together off screen but—Yah!” Ji Hyo hit Gary slightly on his shoulder.

“I just wanted to hear from you…”

“Nope. Not going to say it.” She persisted.

“Yah~~~” Gary aegyo-ed.

*

It was already 1am in the morning when they finished the supper. Together they cleaned the table and made themselves comfortable at the couch in front of the TV that he had in another room. She has promised him to watch her drama’s first episode together; ‘This Week, My Wife Is Having An Affair’.

“Ji Hyo-yah you’re so pretty! Are you also going to be the pretty and intelligent omma to my child in the future?”

“Yah! Who says I am going to marry you?”

“You will! I will make you fall deeper in me.” He said confidently.

“Stop your nonsense.” Ji Hyo just snuggled in the cuddle and continued watching.

As they watched, Gary was so engrossed in the drama and didn’t realised that she has fallen asleep in his arms.

“Daebak story! Ji Hyo-yah is that guy in the car Michael? You’re being so affectionate with him…he could not be someone from the office right? If not, who’s that?”

Silence.

He turned to the lady in his arms and Ji Hyo was already fast asleep. Instead of waking her up, he took the time to go through her face. Because of their busy schedule, he never really has the chance to see her so up-close, when she is sleeping so soundly.

She didn’t have any make up on, just her usual bare face, but that’s the best look that he like about her. So simple, so down to earth, just like the lyrics to his song that he released last year with her in mind; Your Scent. Not to mention her full, luscious lips is the one that always makes him weak especially she pouts and aegyo. Why is he so lucky to have such a beautiful and charming lady in his arm? Sometimes he felt that he was too lucky.

“Ji Hyo-yah,” He nudged her slowly. “Let’s get you home okay?”

“Huh its over?” She winched and sat up straight while rubbing her eyes.

“Yes, you missed it.”

“It’s okay.  Actually I’ve already watched the 1st episode with the team.”

“Then you still watch it with me? “

“Because I promised you to watch it together.” She smiled with her sleepy eyes and yawns.

It is little things like this that made him fell in love with her so deep.

“Aigoo…babo-yah…You should have slept instead of accompanying me.” He tighten the cuddle and kissed her on her left cheek. “It’s really late now, I’ll send you back home okay?”

“I don’t have schedule tomorrow…” She mumbled softly, looking at him.

“Arasso. Then get to the bed and sleep?”

“Carry me.”

Without hesitation, Gary got up from the couch, hands stretched out ready to carry her.

“Oppa! I am just joking. I can walk to the room myself.”

“I better do it more often, otherwise there may be other guys carrying you in the future filming.” He just sweep her up in a bridal style and carried her in his strong arms. Ji Hyo laughed out loud, but just let him do it.

“I wonder will there be anyone like you..? In the future filming…”

“Didn’t you always like young and handsome strong idols?”

“On Monday you’re most handsome. Nobody can deny that.”

“Wow it has been a while…since I heard this.” They reached the other room and he laid her down gently on the single bed that he has. On days he worked too long in the studio, he’ll just spent the night there. “Just on Monday now?” He said, looking at her.

Ji Hyo just smiled back at his words, a little speechless.

“Kang Gary is the best looking person for Song Ji Hyo. Not just on Mondays, but everyday.”

Gary smiled proudly.

“Is that okay? Satisfied?”

“That’s more like it.” He pulled the blanket over her. “Yah, get some rest. You’ve cried a lot earlier.”

“Arasso.”

Gary turned around to turn off the light.

“Yah Kang Gary. You are not coming to bed yet?”

“I’ll wash up and come. You sleep first.”

“Arasso.”

“Good night. OH wait. The last part of Episode 1…the guy in the car…is that the Michael?”

Ji Hyo chuckled out loud at his sudden question about the drama. “Well, I can’t give you spoiler. Please continue to watch to find out.”

“Not even to me?”

“Nope.” She said coolly with her eyes already shut tight.

“Arasso. Good night.”

After taking a quick shower, he changed into something more comfortable. He slides in the bed with her who already soundly asleep. Gently he reached out to her and cuddled her by the waist.

Saranghaeyo Song Ji Hyo.

Every ending is the new beginning.

You're the Answer To A Girl Like Me - Epilogue

EPILOGUE

“Dear, stay still okay?”

“I’m hungry…appa” The little girl pouted as her little hand rubs her tummy.

“But I can’t tie your hair prettily if you keep moving like this...” Gary reasoned in an aegyo tone.

“Arasso…” The girl said and stayed still obediently.

“We’ll dress up nicely and then we’ll go out soon alright? Omma is preparing all the nice food for us now…”

The rapper father, with his big but delicate hand, gently collects all of her soft hair and tied them into a pony tail. And then grabbing a pink ribbon from the desk, he tied a butterfly knot over the pony tail.

“Okay! Now our Joo Rin-ie is all set now! Let’s go out and see omma ~!”

Gary scooped up his little girl and carried her like in a wedding style out of the room. The girl giggled loudly.

In the kitchen, Ji Hyo is diligently preparing the brunch. The menu of the day was kimbap, ddeobokki, Korean pancake and a bottle of orange juice.

“Yeobo~! Are we ready to go? This little one keeps complaining…” Gary said as he looked at his girl in his arm.

“Oh our Joo Rin-ni is hungry already? Arasso, omma will quickly wrap all these up and be ready okay?” Ji Hyo answered brightly while snuggling her nose against her girl’s tummy. That made the girl giggled loudly again.

“I’ll get the rest of the things ready and we’ll wait for you in the car.” Gary said before planting a loud smooch on her cheek. Ji Hyo just smiled at his sudden ‘attack’.

Gary left the 4 year old Joo Rin on the couch and starts to get the other stuff ready into the car. After all the stuff was loaded, Gary buckled his little princess behind the seat onto the child seat. Ji Hyo followed afterwards and the three set off for their Sunday outing.

It was a Sunday morning where Gary and Ji Hyo always plan it like a family day. They frequently spent the day in Hangang River, spending some quality time together over a picnic.

*

“We’re finally here!! Are you ready Joo Rin?”

“YEAY!!!” She exclaimed excitedly with her hands up in the air.

They got down and chose a quite spot. It was Sunday but there were already a lot of people in the park. They chose a secluded spot and laid down their things on the mat.

“Yeobo, what time the others are coming?” Ji Hyo asked as she looked at the time on her phone

“I think they should be here anytime soon.”

“Hyung!”

Both turned to the sound from their back and saw Haha and Byul holding their son’s hand and walking towards them.

“Oh, Dong Hoon-ah!” He exclaimed as he watches the six year old boy came running towards them. “You’re such a big boy now!”

“Dream-oppa!” Joo Rin called out and ran towards the boy. “Annyeonghaseyo~” She greeted politely with a slight bow.

“Wow, look at her…so smart and obedient!” Byul said in amazement.

“Come let’s go and play!” Dream reached out for Joo Rin’s hand and held her hands.

“Don’t go too far and be careful!” Ji Hyo called out. The two nodded their head briefly before running away to the playground.

“Unnie, you prepared so much today….I feel so embarrassed coming empty handed…” Byul said as she and Haha sat down on the mat with them.

“I did nothing much actually…These are all simple dishes…not too difficult…”

Byul took a mouthful of ddeokbokki and her eyes widened, “Wow they are so good!”

Ji Hyo just smiled at her comment. “She really improved a lot after giving birth to Joo Rin….” Gary added with a proud smile on his face. “Because of her, my belly is really getting more and more obvious…”

“It’s you are the one that’s not doing exercise…why blame it on my cooking…”

“I skipped gym because you said you like them!” Gary retorted.

Seeing the two argued like children, Haha and Byul can’t help but to laugh out loud.

“How’s Jong Kook oppa? Still going on steady with his date?” Ji Hyo asked suddenly.

“I didn’t hear much about him, but the last time I heard it was going all well...” Haha said, with shy smile at the end. “I think this time it’s working…”

“Really?!” Ji Hyo said excitedly. “I really want to attend Jong Kook oppa’s wedding. Yeobo, perhaps you can rap some congratulating message on that day.” She nudged Gary who was busy eating.

“By the way, where’s the maknae? Still in Busan filming?” Haha asked as he chomped on the food. “Kwang Soo is so busy recently that I barely get to see him.”

“He called last night and he said he can’t make it to the dinner this Saturday…now he’s a big movie star…he has no time for us.” Ji Hyo pouted slightly. “I also heard that his girlfriend was a little jealous because of his kissing scene.” She laughed.

The four continue chatting about their daily lives, talk about the other members ever since Running Man has stopped filming four years ago. Each member focused on their individual schedule; movies, dramas, hosting, business, family planning and dating. Sometimes they will meet up for dinner to get together and talk about their old days in Running Man.

Both families spent some quality time together before Haha and his family had to leave earlier due to some schedule. Gary spent some time to teach Joo Rin to ride the bicycle while Ji Hyo stayed at the mat and watches the two. They played a while before taking a rest on the mat.

“Appa….what is this?” His little girl rubs her hand over Gary’s right arm where it has a tattoo of the words ‘DJ’ on it.

“This?”

Gary looked at Ji Hyo who was just smiling. She objected when he said he wanted another tattoo initially because she knew how painful it is, but she finally conceded after knowing the meaning behind the tattoo.

“This one means Double J, which stands for Ji Hyo omma and you, Joo Rin – the two most important people in my life...” He said as he caresses his little girl’s head.

“Joo Rin-ah….” Ji Hyo hesitated. “Do…you want to….have a brother or sister to play with you?” She asked suddenly while wiping the little beads of sweat off Joo Rin’s forehead.

Little Joo Rin looked up to Ji Hyo with a widened eyes. “Dongsaeng?” She then nodded her head happily. “Yesh! I wanna play with them…”

Gary who is lying down on the mat lazily suddenly sat upright. He then scooted closer to Ji Hyo. “Ji Hyo-ah….don’t tell me….” His mouth started to form a curve upwards. His hand reach over to her tummy and touched them. “Are you…?”

Seeing his excited look, Ji Hyo burst out laughing.

“Well…unfortunately it’s not, yeobo.”

Gary’s face tones down immediately.

She saw his disappointed look and gently caresses his face. “I just thought how our Joo Rin-ni is big now and I think she would love to have another sibling to keep her accompany…And…you and I need to work for it to happen….” Her voice trailed off shyly.

With a sheepish smile Gary whispered softly, “Tonight…I’ll put Joo Rin to sleep early…” He leaned nearer and gave a kiss on Ji Hyo’s cheek which she just smiled.

“Appa kissed omma again!” Joo Rin said excitedly while clapping her hands.

“Joo Rin wants some kiss also? Come let appa kiss you too!”

*

Ji Hyo was sitting comfortably on the bed, one hand on the tv’s remote when Gary came into their room.

“Joo Rin is asleep?”

“I think she had too much fun in the morning so she fell asleep quite quickly.

“What’s behind you?” The fast sense Ji Hyo could see that Gary was holding something behind him as he stood there not moving.

“Well, it’s nothing much…” Gary walked right to the bedside and revealed a small bouquet of rose. “This is for you, yeobo.” He leaned down and kissed her on her lips.

“Since when you bought this…?” Ji Hyo was really delighted as she received the flowers gratefully. She sniffs in the fragrance of the flower and a smile spread across her face,

Gary climbed onto the bed. He then slipped right under the blanket and cuddled Ji Hyo.

“Yeobo….is there anything interesting on the television today..?”

“There is…until you came on the bed…” Ji Hyo said and she turned off the television. She then turned to Gary. “Gumawo, Kang Gary.”

He has a silly smile on his face because of her soft words, but he wasn’t satisfied. “Just a thank you?”

Ji Hyo leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Gary then brought her closer to him, zeroing the gap between them. He then brushed her hair aside and tugged it behind her ear that revealed more of her side cheek.

“You’re looking so beautiful today…”

He slowly leaned in and kissed her, softer this time. He gently lifted up her chin and their noses touched. She could feel his warm breath on him as he breaths. He rub his nose against hers playfully before leaning in for another kiss. They were soft and gentle, and Ji Hyo felt everything melt.

Suddenly, he broke apart. He smiled; his sweet, handsome smile. "Yeobo...tonight we’ll make another one?"

Ji Hyo smiled before leaning in and pressed their mouths together. This time the kiss was more persistent, more URGENT, almost. Their hands roamed freely on each other’s body under the blanket. Gary gently broke apart, to breathe. Then, he reached for her ear.

“Saranghae, Song Ji Hyo.” He whispered before continuing the night with lots of love.

You're the Answer To A Girl Like Me - Chapter 22 (FINALE)

Chapter 22 – FINALE

“Hyung, I think I am ready.”

“Ready for?”

“I’m ready to settle down.”

Haha’s eyes widened. “A-Am I really hearing this from you?”

“Did you have too much or what?”

Jong Kook checks the amount of soju bottle that they had during the dinner. They only had 2 bottles so far. So it’s a bit difficult for Gary to be drunk being a good liquor holder.

“Hyung, don’t worry. I’m not blabbering nonsense. I’m perfectly awake and in my senses… I’m just speaking out what my heart feels all these while.” He said as he held his chest. “I just can’t stand at the fact that I don’t get to see her every day. Sometime I can’t sleep at night because I’ll be missing her smile, her eyes, her laughter, her hair, her scent—”

“Stop there hyung!…We know exactly what you are trying to get at.”

Gary chuckled to himself. He didn’t know he was this cheesy.

“Yea, instead save all these words for her…” Jong Kook gave a wide smile. “When do you decide to propose to her?”

Haha nodded in agreement. “I think Ji Hyo’ll be so touched when the day comes. But hyung, would she accept it? As in with all the company contracts, fans and her career? Will they respond well?”

Jong Kook shook his head. “I don’t think that matters first. Most important right now is that Ji Hyo understands what Gary feels towards her, that you are really serious this time. Everything else will work out eventually if there’s a mutual discussion with all the parties. I believe Ji Hyo’s fan will support her.”

“Yea I think Jong Kook hyung is right. You must let her know what you really feel…”

“Gary-ah, if you are for real this time, we as brothers will brainstorm for you.”

“Ahhh….hyung ottoke? I’m feeling so nervous already….what if she rejects me? I think I will die.” Gary covers his face with his palms.

“Hyung always think on the positive sides! You must pick the right moment! The moment is the key…”

“Yea…Dong Hoon you should teach him something….I can’t give you much advice though…” The bachelor’s voice trailed away.

“Hyung! Please meet some women would you? You can’t get married to your muscle!”

“Do you think I am stupid? Of course I know that. Okay! Enough about me. It’s about Gary now and let’s focus on that.”

The trio continues their dinner with more talking and ideas for the proposal.

*

“Gil-ah, hyung have something to say…” Gary brought Gil to the couch at the corner and made him sit down beside him. The recording studio was empty as the other staff went out for lunch. “Keep this to yourself first.”

“What is it hyung? What is so secretive about it?”

“I…am thinking of settling down. I am going to propose to Ji Hyo.”

“EH?!”

“Shhhhh! Why are you giving such a big reaction?”

“Ahh I’m sorry… Cause I just can’t believe what I’m hearing.”

“Is it really so unbelievable?”

“Because hyung you have always portray a floating lifestyle! Like you never wished to be tied down because of marriage.”

“I know…I never thought that I would come to this decision too…But after knowing her, I think I have grown a lot. My thoughts are becoming more sensible and more mature. I want to belong to someone and a place where I call home.”

“Hyung, you are making me jealous already….when will I meet someone like that?” Gil gave out a long sigh and put his hands behind his head. “I dream of a home too….”

“I think that’s the ultimate part of getting into relationship. It builds you up and becoming a better person.” Gary gave a silly smile. “I think she is where I should belong, my destiny.”

“Arghhhh! Hyung do you know your words gives me goosebumps?”

“So now I’m working on something.” Gary stood up and walked over to the table. “This song is written for her.”

“No wonder I’ve seen you working hard on it.”

“I really hope she understand how I feel about her.”

*

Ji Hyo closed the door behind her and she lazily walked into her house. It has been a long day for her since 4am in the morning for the cap photoshoot. Just then a call came in, it was from Gary.

“Oppa….”

“You sound so tired…yeobo.”

“Your call just came in time…I just reach home…” Ji Hyo slumps onto her couch. She then released her hair band and let her hair loose. “And I’ve been standing up the whole day…my legs are so painful.” She whined. She reached out for her strained legs and massages them gently.

“Aigoo, my poor Ji Hyo….should I come over now?”

“I wish you could too but oppa it’s 1am already…and your place is so far—”

Suddenly her doorbell rang. She looked over to the intercom and to her surprise, she see Gary’s face on the screen. Ji Hyo ended the call and tossed her phone away. She then quickly rushed over to the door and opens it.

“Kang Gary!” Ji Hyo can’t believe her what she is seeing.

“Surprised to see me here?” Gary gave a cheesy smile.

“Kang Gary…It’s so late already…why are you….awww…” She couldn’t finish her sentence. Her lips eventually formed into a pout and she stepped forward to give him a tight hug around his neck. Gary reciprocated by hugging around her waist.

“Because I miss you…so I came and drop by. You see, I even brought over some snacks.”

Ji Hyo broke off the hug and looked at what he has brought along. Gary raised his hand and dangles the food in front of her.  She knew almost immediately that it was fried chicken and jjajangmyeon.

“How did you know I was craving for it?” She said with glistening eyes.

“I know today’s your last day of photo-shoot and probably you can eat anything you want…so I bought your favourites.”

“Ah….as expected, Kang Gary knows me the best.” She gave a light kiss on his cheek. His face was brimming with happiness as he watches his woman being so happy.

They settled down in the dining room, and Ji Hyo chomped down the food happily. The food in front of her totally completes her day. “Oppa, you don’t have any schedule today?”

“Oh, today? I was going around running some errands with Gil earlier this morning and had lunch with other staff….”

“Ahh…I have not seen Gil oppa for some time…How is he?”

“H-He’s totally fine...”

“Oppa.” Ji Hyo squinted her eyes look straight into his. “Is there anything wrong? Why do you sound so weird?”

“Did I?” Gary quickly looked away.

“You can’t lie to me…” Ji Hyo scooted nearer and pointed at him. “Oppa…do you have something to confess?” She asked softly.

“I have something to let you hear actually…” Gary rubs back of his hair.

“Oh?” Ji Hyo’s face lit up almost immediately. She was a Leessang fan after all.

“It’s a song I compose recently…and I collaborated with Jung In. So I need you to be the judge of this song…especially the lyrics.”

“Oh please! Let me hear it already!” She said in an excited tone.

Gary took out his phone and swiftly chose the newly composed song. “Please listen to the lyrics and let me know what you think about it. I need to go get something from the car.”

“Oh alright.” She answered briefly and plugged in the earphone. She was really excited.

“I’ll leave you alone then.” He gave her a peck on the forehead and left the house. She just smiled and focused back on the song and pressed the play button.

*please listen to the song while reading the lyrics ^^*

Your Scent

Your hair is tied back so I can see your forehead
It bounces every time you walk
At the end of your pants that wrap around your smooth legs are light sneakers
Everything about you is simple but you give off beauty
Wherever you go, you have good manners
Your smile and the way you talk make my rough thoughts brighter
You’re like a tattoo on top of my heart
You fill up my heart so much that I can’t breathe
After we spend the night together
Your scent that remains at the tip of my blankets gets me drunk as I fall asleep
After holding your white skin and soft cheeks
I want to bother you all night
A girl who knows how to enjoy her life rather than money
A possessor of a charm of unconventional beauty
You have the scent of a human, an untainted and natural person in this complex world

I like you so much because of your human scent
I’m even more attracted to your clumsy appearance
If I hesitate, I might lose you
So I’m going crazy

I lived like a carriage racing through a dirt road
I may look rough but if you take me apart, I’m a man with many scars
Like the smoke from a factory chimney
I lived however life went, by myself
I worked as I sweat so money always overflows
But I hadn’t found a love that I wanted to share it with
But you’re a bit different
A girl who knows how to long for a person’s hand like an LP

After my hard days, after I got to know you
Everything is going back to its place
After my hard days, after I got to know you
Everything is breathing again

I like you so much because of your human scent
I’m even more attracted to your clumsy appearance
If I hesitate, I might lose you
So I’m going crazy

Just like the sky looking like the sky
Just like the wind feeling like the wind
Just the way you are
Not made up in any way
I’m falling for that beauty

I like you so much because of your human scent
I’m even more attracted to your clumsy appearance
If I hesitate, I might lose you
So I’m going crazy

Ji Hyo’s eyes starts to well up towards the end of the song. Even without him saying, she knew obviously the song was made for her; the description and the feeling totally described her.  She was overwhelmed by the song because nobody did this for her before.

“Kang Gary….why am I so lucky to have you..?” She said softly and smiled to herself. As she indulges in her emotions, she noticed that Gary was not back yet. She got up from her seat and went out of the house to look for him.

“Oppa! Where are—”

*Pleasex100 listen to the song while reading from this part to get into the feel! ^^*

Ji Hyo could not finish her sentence.  Her feet were rooted to the ground as she witness the scene in front of her.

There was Gil, Jong Kook, Haha, Jung In, Kwang Soo and of course Gary. They were standing by his car which was parked a distance away from her house, with Gary carrying a huge drawing block and the others holding balloons and bouquet of flowers. The moment they saw Ji Hyo coming out, all of them walked up to her.

“Kang Gary….w-what’s going on?” She was really in the state of shock. “Jong K-Kook oppa, w-why are you here?”

Jong Kook looks at Haha and gave a wide smile. Then he nudges Gary by his shoulder. “Yah!”

“S-Song Ji Hyo!” Gary started speaking in a nervous tone. “Please stay calm and read the things I’ve written here.”

Ji Hyo could only give a mong look. And then Gary started flipping to the first page, one after another.

“Song Ji Hyo, you know you’re the luckiest thing that ever happen to me..”

“Because of you, I’ve grown to a man, a sensible man…”

“Because of you’ve I’ve become a person who knows what is happiness..”

“Because of you I’ve found my life…”

“Because you are my destiny…”

“I have not seen you for 4 days, 2 hours, 30 minutes….”

“And I can’t imagine spending another 4 days without you…”

“Like the lyrics, if I hesitate, I might lose you..So I’m going crazy...”

“Sometime I can’t sleep at night because I’ll be missing your smile, your eyes, your laughter, your scent…your everything.”

“No more Monday Couple only….”

“Because I want to share my life with you…”

Gary paused and he smiled at Ji Hyo. With a nervous hand, he flipped to the last page.

“Can I call you yeobo officially…?”

Ji Hyo’s eyes were well up with tears and they began to roll down. She cupped her mouth with her left hand because she could not believe what she is seeing. Seeing Ji Hyo’s reaction, Gary’s mouth curved upwards. He gave the cards to Kwang Soo and reached out the back of the pocket.

He took out a small, nicely decorated box.

He walked nearer to the now, stunned Ji Hyo. “Now…”  He spokes as he gently kneeled down on right leg. He reached out for her right hand and holds the tightly.

“Kang Hee Geun from Jamsil is asking you to be his Mrs Kang….with the ring from Macau.”

“Oppa….” Ji Hyo finally spoke in a shock and tearful voice.

“Ji Hyo…, would you marry me?”

Ji Hyo looked up to all oppa and dongsaeng in front of him, and they were all brimming with smile. Haha just cheered loudly. “Just say yes! What are you waiting for?”

“Yes noona!” Kwang Soo chirped in. Jong Kook was smiling from ear to ear till his eyes were barely visible. Ji Hyo looked back to Gary that was still kneeling. His eyes were small, but she could see his sincerity, right from the moment they started to date. She could totally feel his love for her especially from the song just now.

“Oppa…” She spoke softly. “You’re the answer to a girl like me, if not you, who else am I getting married to?” Smile spread across her face in tears.

“So is that a yes?” Gary’s face lit up.

Ji Hyo nodded.

With that head motion of hers, Gary fitted the ring into her fourth finger and sprang up from the floor.

“YAYYYYYY!!”

He hug Ji Hyo tightly around her neck. “Ji Hyo-ah, saranghae!”

He turned around look at his gang of people. “Ji Hyo said yes! Did you guys hear that? She said yes!”

“Noona! Here’s your roses.”

“Gumawo Kwang Soo-ah.” She received them shyly.

“Are you that touched…?” Gary asked softly with a brimming face. He then gently wiped the tears off her soft cheeks. “I love you Song Ji Hyo.” He whispered.

“Do you know that Gary hyung and Gil hyung was driving around this whole day to get these prepared for you? He even purposely chooses this hour knowing that you only come back around this time.”

Hearing what Kwang Soo just said, Ji Hyo just look at Gary and without a word, she gave him a peck and a hug around his waist.

“WOOooo…” Everybody cheered in unison.

“I think we need to leave these two alone for some private time…” Haha joked.

“Yah people….tomorrow’s dinner is on me.” Gary spoke. “I’m so thankful for you guys. I can’t get this done without all of you.”

Gil nodded. “Of course! I want top grade Korean beef please.”

Ji Hyo burst out in laughter. “Yah oppa…Korean beef is expensive….” She said softly.

“WOOOooooo…look at noona, behaving like a wife already…taking care of Gary hyung’s finance.” Kwang Soo said. His words made everybody burst out in laughter.

As if it is natural, Ji Hyo’s hand automatically lifted up and wanted to hit Kwang Soo’s head.

“Noona! You are now someone’s wife already, you can’t always threaten to hit me. Don’t tell me you gonna treat Gary hyung like this…”

“Yah Lee Kwang Soo! Can you just stop talking for a minute?”

Again, everybody just burst out laughing.

“Yah Ji Hyo-ah…congratulations to you…I hope you have a wonderful life together with Gary.” Jong Kook said.

“Oppa…gumawo…” Ji Hyo stepped forward and gave Jong Kook a hug.

“Congrats oppa!” Jung In said happily and stepped forward to pat Gary on the back. “Finally your dream came true.”

You're the Answer to a Girl Like Me - Chapter 21

Chapter 21

“Well as for now, we’ve not yet received any complaints or words from Ji Hyo’s company. So nothing is changing. And actually the fans are giving a lot of positive reviews, wishing you guys were really together and all….”

“Really...?”

“Yes, so you guys have nothing to worry about, nothing to restrict at the moment….” Jo PD ended his sentence with a chuckle, looking at the two people in front of him. “You guys can freely express your thoughts and actions during filming…as long as you are comfortable with it.”

“Ah really thanks a lot PD-nim….” Gary reached out his hand for a handshake. He then bowed lightly. “If there’s any update, please do let us know as soon as possible.”

“Sure no problem….”

Gary has been really worried over the issue and they have purposely made the trip to the SBS the very next day after the filming with Big Bang members to clarify the matter.

*

Gary and Ji Hyo both came out of Jo PD’s office with a relaxed mind. Ji Hyo nudged Gary’s waist with a smile. “So now you’ve nothing to worry about anymore…I told you Chang Jo oppa won’t do anything weird…And you kept insisting to see PD-nim…”

“It’s good that nothing happened….I just don’t want anything that affects you…” Gary said smiling, glad that how things have turn out. “This worth a celebration doesn’t it?”

JI Hyo’s eyes literally sparkled when he mentioned celebration. “Soju!”

“Tsk tsk tsk look at you…You only thought about soju…Now I’m getting worried.” He said with a little pout.

“Well....” She immediately understood Gary’s facial expression. Ji Hyo linked her arm around his. “I promised that I’ll only drink moderately when I’m with others….So that you don’t have to worry about me getting drunk all over the place…okay?” Ji Hyo said with her aegyo smile.

As expected, it worked like a magical charm. Gary’s face lit up immediately. He then looked around in the SBS building, making sure that there’s no one near them, he quickly took the chance to interlock his fingers with hers. “I’m  worried because of your safety and health…” He said gently. His concerned words made Ji Hyo smile in return and she gently laid her head against his shoulder.

“Arasso…”

“Let’s go grab something delicious to eat okay?” Gary said with a wide smile.

Ji Hyo nodded. They both automatically let go of each other before stepping out of the building’s back door to prevent any paparazzi pictures of them.

*

After a sumptuous grilled makchang dinner at Gary’s restaurant, he fetched Ji Hyo home. It was around 11 at night when Gary parked right in front of her house.

“Ahhh the dinner was just too enjoyable~~Gumawo oppa…” Ji Hyo said while rubbing her bloated tummy. Gary smiled at the sight of this. He just loves how she behaves exactly like herself, not faking it like the other women he met before; very human-like.

“Your appetite is really not joking…almost reaching my appetite.”

“Don’t like it…?” Ji Hyo asked, a little hesitating because eating has always been her favourite thing to do.

“Why would I?” Gary responded greatly. “What’s better than having your girlfriend enjoys food as much as you do? Don’t forget that I’m Gourmet Kang Gary too.” Gary said proudly.

Ji Hyo laughed at his words.

“Plus….” Gary rubs the back of his hair a little. “I like you for who you are, for your simplicity and down to earth personality. Not because of your pretty face or your slim body….So I don’t care about your figure, eat as much as you want as you like as long as you’re happy, I love you just the way you are.”

Gary words made her smile shyly. She was a bit speechless at first but she could feel that it wasn’t his usual cheesy words. It felt sincere, all of his thoughts and from the bottom of his heart. She gave a warm smile before leaning forward and planted a kiss on his lips. The kiss was sweet, affirming whatever Gary just said.

Straight after the kiss, Gary pulls her in for a hug. “Sometimes I really think that why would someone like you fall for a man like me?” He said with a grateful smile.

“That’s really easy…because you’re Kang Hee Geun.”

“Awwww….now I’m touched.” Gary smile widely. “Tomorrow you’ve got a meeting in the company right?”

“Yes….for two advertisement project if I’m not mistaken…”

“Wooo my Ji Hyo is getting really famous isn’t it? This is good….”

“Instead, I might be busier….and less time to spend with you….” Ji Hyo said with sulking tone.

Hearing her voice, he broke off the hug and cups her fair skin in his bold hand. “Aigoo…our Ji Hyo is really sulking aren’t you? Don’t worry, I’ve more free time, I’ll make sure that we’ll definitely spend some time together okay? Just make sure you don’t start finding me a nuisance.” Gary laughs lightly. He then tucks her fallen fringe behind her ear.

“Arasso…” Ji Hyo nod lightly. “I better get going now…Meeting them early tomorrow. I don’t want to give bad impression on the first meeting.”

“Of course…Need a wakeup call?” He said, gently brushing the side of her cheeks.

“Thank you…but I rather you sleep more…my manager unnie will wake me up in time….”

“Okay then, get in now and I’ll call you when I get home okay?” With that he planted a quick goodbye kiss on her cheek.

“Goodnight, yeobo.”

*

Ji Hyo looked at herself in the mirror, her usual routine. She scanned her body from the top till bottom. She really got nothing to complain about. As she looked, Gary’s words came into her mind and she smiled again. She then wrapped herself in the bathrobe and head out of the bathroom.

She sashayed slowly out, looking at the clock hanging in her bedroom wall while drying her hair. It was almost an hour after he left and he hasn’t called.

Oppa said he would call….Should I give him a call?

JI Hyo picked up her phone that was on her bed and settled comfortably at the couch in her room. She was about to press the speed dial #2 when she remembered Gary’s last word in the car.

Goodnight, yeobo

His gentle words made her lips curved upwards. It was her first time to have someone to call her that.

Yeobo?

She never thought that she would hear that from Gary. It came so naturally, as if they were real husband and wife. Although these nicknames are pretty common among young couple, however at their age, each progress in relationship is taken into serious considerations and could bring other meaning.

“Kang Gary….Oppa….Yeobo.” Ji Hyo tried saying.

She laughed at her own fascination.  Actually yeobo doesn’t sound bad…she actually like it. Just as she was wrapped in her own world, her phone rang.  It was Gary. She picked it up almost immediately.

“Oh, Oppa…I was about to call you actually…”

“Really? There’s quite a heavy traffic so I’ve just got home. What are you doing…?”

“Ahhh I see…I just got off the shower….Drying my hair now….”

“Ah…I’m getting my shower too…I’ll talk to you tomorrow okay..? Goodluck for the meeting tomorrow. Goodnight .”

“Kang Gary.”

“Yea..?”

“Goodnight….yeobo.” She said timidly.

“Oh?” Gary’s chuckling could be heard at the end of the line. Ji Hyo could only smile widely hearing his excited tone.

“Okay…sleep early and dream of me. Saranghae, yeobo.”

*

The week passed quickly with Ji Hyo’s busy schedule. She had to attend meetings regarding two advertisement projects to discuss about the concept and other miscellaneous matter. Gary on the other hand just stays home most of the time to work on some song. They didn’t manage to meet each other much because Ji Hyo had to travel around and about for the photo-shoots. Gary could only send healthy herbal drinks to her manager so that she can pass them to Ji Hyo.

They finally met each other on during the filming of Ep 164 where Yoo Ah In and Kim HaeSook came out as guest. That week’s theme was inheritance theme. Ji Hyo and Gary was made the husband and wife with three children; Haha, Kwang Soo and Ah In. They both really enjoyed each other’s’ company throughout the filming. It was a funny episode where everybody enjoyed the theme and jokes. Of course, Kwang Soo was made fun of thoroughly during the songpyeon (dumpling) snatching game and cooking time, but it was only for fun.

After the entire day’s filming, the members decided to have another gathering since it has been a long time since they do that. They decided to eat over the usual soju place they would go to.

“Omma! What do you like about appa? His ugly but cute face?” KwangSoo teased loudly. The Monday Couple has never fail to be the centre of topic when they gather.

“I know I know! It must be appa’s clubbing style…” Haha stood up and danced a little. “That’s why omma likes to club too right?”

“Yah what nonsense are you guys blabbering right now? I’ve always like clubbing, not because of Kang Gary.” Ji Hyo protested.

“Oh so now you finally confessed that you like clubbing huh?” Suk Jin laughed. “So I guess the rumours of being delinquent Ji Hyo during your younger days are all true….”

“Yah yah yah! Stop all of you! Stop making fun of my Ji Hyo…How can you guys bully her?” Having said that, Gary envelope his arms around JI Hyo and made a pitiful face.

“Wuuooooo…”

Because of Gary’s protective words, the shy Ji Hyo pushed his arms away and hit them slightly. “Oppa!”

“You guys are behaving like husband and wife….right? Do you guys think so too?” Jong Kook chirped in.

“How does it feel to be husband and wife today? It’s seems like it is becoming reality?” Jae Suk jeered while filling up Gary’s soju cup.

“Oh yes! I heard Ji Hyo noona calling Gary hyung with yeobo and all…” Said Haha, adding oil to the fire.

“Ah….” Ji Hyo looked down, face red with embarrassment. “It was a slip of tongue…I didn’t realise it—”

“Aigoo…let’s just give them some time to breathe okay…Let’s toast instead.” Jae Suk the life saver for that couple.

“Toast to?” Everybody lifted up their cup.

“Well emm….” Jae Suk hesitated and looks at the couple. “Let’s toast to their beautiful relationship.”

“Cheersss~~!!!”

The dinner continued with more chatters and jokes. All the members really enjoyed themselves the max. However Gary and Ji Hyo decided to excused themselves earlier.

“Oh why so early?”

“Ji Hyo still have some more schedule tomorrow…So I’m sending her back first.”

“Ahh such a pity…” Haha commented. “But well better go back and rest early. I know your sleep is more important.”

“So people, we will move first. See you guys next week.”

They decided to leave early too because Gary wanted to spend some time alone just with her, nobody else. They decided to go Hangang park for a short stroll before heading home.

“Ahhh now things are quieter now….” Ji Hyo said in a small voice. “Oppa-deul are so noisy especially Haha oppa…” Ji Hyo let out a small laugh.

“Let’s go sit at that bench okay?” Gary suggested.

They both walked with their fingers interlocking with each other’s towards the bench. The Hangang park was quiet as usual, only the soft sound of the wind blowing could be heard.

“Did you finish the herbal drink I bought for you?”

“Yes, I drink them all….”

“That’s a good girl…” Gary said as he looked at his watch. It was almost 1am. He then let out a sigh. “Why is it that our meeting are always so short?”

“Oppa….”

“The time seems to past extremely fast when I’m with you…” He smile. “If only I could see you everyday.”

Ji Hyo’s laying against Gary’s shoulder, sat upright and turned to look at him. “Oppa, what are you trying to say?”

You're the Answer to a Girl Like Me - Chapter 20

Chapter 20

“Oppa! Any free time to spare now?”

“Eh? Now?”

*

“Oppa, are you okay with this arrangement?” Ji Hyo looked over to the driver. “I don’t know if this is a rush decision, but I think this is a good—”

“Well, if you think this would make up everything, then oppa will support your choice. Don’t worry too much about me. Just do what you need to do.” Gary reached out his hand and placed them firmly on her hands, assuring her decision.

Once they reach her house, which was just a short 10 minutes distance from the mart, they got down the car. A silver sedan followed closely behind. CEO Baek got down of the car with heavy footsteps.

*

The two guys sat in the living room opposite from each other. It was so awkward that Gary literally felt suffocated. He looked around nervously trying to avoid eye contact with CEO Baek.

“Are you nervous?”

“Eh?...Me…No...It-it’s just that—”

“Just be comfortable Gary-ssi…you don’t have to be like that…” He said politely. “You don’t have to be so formal around me.”

“Ahh…yes…” Gary looked over to Ji Hyo who’s busy in the kitchen, preparing the tteokbokki. “Well…I think I’ll go over to the kitchen to help her…Please wait  a while.”

He bowed slightly and excused himself to the kitchen. CEO Baek just silently watched the two from the couch.

‘You didn’t appreciate her enough and so you had to let her go.’

CEO Baek scolded himself mentally. That’s the reason why he lost Ji Hyo to Gary. He can see that how Gary’s life revolves around her. He watches how Gary attentively helps Ji Hyo around, being there with her even such a trivial matter. He remembers back a few occasions where he had to leave Ji Hyo alone because of work. As a CEO he has a lot of work to in the company and entertaining important guest. By the time he spends time with her, he’s already exhausted. It felt like a boiled water that has been cooled down and he forgot the ways to keep them boiling.

As his thoughts deepen, lost in his world of regrets he was suddenly called out by Ji Hyo’s voice.

“Oppa! Are you okay?”

“Oh?”

“You are staring at the kitchen the whole time…You didn’t even see me passing by in front of you.”

“Ahh…did I? I was just thinking about some stuff back in the company…”

“Oh oppa are you busy? Then do you want me to pack this up for you?” Ji Hyo said, pointing to the plate of delicious saucy tteobokki that was place on the living room table. Gary then came over to the living room with two bottles of cold soju.

“How can I not eat this while when this smells so nice?” CEO Baek said as he sat on the living room floor.

“Of course, food comes before anything…” Gary said coolly as he sat on the floor beside Ji Hyo.

“Let’s tuck in then!” Ji Hyo said cheerfully. She passed the chopsticks to CEO Baek and was anticipating his comment towards the food as he eats one mouthful.

“How is it oppa?” She asked nervously. She looked over to Gary who was munching off the food happily. “As expected…” Gary said with face filled with happiness. He showed thumbs up sign before eating another mouthful.

“Yes…Gary-ssi is right…It’s really delicious…” CEO Baek commented.

“Ahh really? I was kind of worried at first…I’m glad it turned out well…” Ji Hyo said shyly. She then tried herself and was amazed by how it turned out well despite her bad cooking skill.

“Gary-ssi, how’s work?”

“Thanks for your concern… Everything is fine at the moment…Just the usual. ..Writing songs...filming Running Man and ohyea! Regarding what you said earlier…I’m really sorry. I should have thought more about it before behaving that way…I’m really sorry…Next time I’ll be more careful…”

“Don’t worry too much about that…I guess I was a little too serious that it startled you…I’m sorry about that too…”

“No! No! Chang Jo-ssi! I’m the one at fault! I should be the one to say sorry.” Gary lifted up the soju bottle and refilled CEO Baek’s cup. “Come let’s bottoms up.”

“Yah yah yah…Why are the two of you keep trying to say sorry to each other? Is there something that I don’t know?” Ji Hyo asked curiously.

“Well it’s something between the guys…” CEO Baek said suddenly with a sly smirk. Playing along, Gary nodded. “Yes, it’s between the men only.” He said, adding to Ji Hyo’s confusion.

Despite feeling left out, Ji Hyo is really delighted to the scene in front of her; a scene that she never had imagine that she’ll experience. Both Gary and CEO Baek is talking to harmoniously to each other…behaving like friends and even keeping secrets from her. She’s more than contented. She felt that asking CEO Baek to come over was the right decision.

The supper aka hangout session continued further. They had a couple rounds of soju and more talks. Gary starts to know CEO Baek more personally and vice versa. CEO Baek personally felt that the dinner was a closure to his relationship with Ji Hyo and the starting of a new friendship.

 *

“Thank you oppa….for coming over” Ji Hyo broke the silence as she walked CEO Baek out. “I’m really thankful.”

“I should be the one saying that…Thank you because I really enjoyed myself tonight. Your food is delicious.”

“This is just a simple meal…Oppa you know I can’t really cook right?”

“But I know that there’s someone who will appreciate whatever you feed him. And that person is waiting for you inside.” CEO Baek gave a smile. “Go on inside…It’s cold outside here…”

Ji Hyo broke into a shy smile. “Arasso…oppa.”

“Oppa will get going now. I’ll see you around in the company.”

With that, CEO Baek entered the car and drove away. As she watches his car disappear around the corner, suddenly, a pair of arms envelopes around Ji Hyo waist. “He left already…?”

“Yea….”

“It’s so cold outside here…Aren’t you cold?”

Smiling while looking down at the pair of arms that wraps around her waist, Ji Hyo said “This already enough to make me warm and fuzzy inside.” She reached out her hand and caresses Gary’s hair.

*

After cleaning up the mess in the living room and the kitchen, Ji Hyo walked over to Gary who is sitting on the couch and automatically occupies the space beside him. He then picked up the hi-fi’s remote control to play some soft music.

“Aigooo I’m so tired” Ji Hyo whined as she stretches her arm up in the air.

“Come here…” Gary said coolly, offering his leg as the pillow. Accepting it gratefully, Ji Hyo quickly snuggled closer and rests her head on his lap.

“You’ve work hard today…” Gary said softly, stroking her soft maroon hair.

“I wonder how the producer is going to edit today’s episode…? Do you think they’ll put the kiss in?”

“Whatever, I hope the reaction won’t be too explosive…I’m starting to regret already…” Gary said with a guilty tone.

“Don’t worry oppa, things will be fine…We’ll deal with it somehow. Putting that aside, oppa, I feel that I have made the right decision just now….”

“You’re still thinking about the meal just now?”

“Of course I am…I was so worried that things will turn out bad…or awkward. So I’m grateful to you oppa…”

“To me?”

Ji Hyo sat up and clasped her arm around his. Then she rested her head on her shoulder. “Of course…Because you stood by me and supported my decision.  If you’re not here, I don’t think I would have that much of strength and I have to affirm you for that.”

Hearing the praise, Gary’s face got red all of a sudden. “Well…I because I know you always make the right decision…you’re the wisest woman I’ve ever met.” Gary said earnestly.

“Do I always make the right decision?” Ji Hyo asked curiously, looking at him.

“Of course…that’s why I’m the luckiest man in the world…” Gary said playfully with aegyo smile.

“Eyyyy….someone is being very thick-skinned right now…” Ji Hyo let out a big laugh. Gary is surely her endorphin, with his silly and cheesy words it always makes her feel very loved. Having said that, she snuggled closer to Gary.

With a soft voice, she gently whispered by his ear.

“Instead of that….” She paused momentarily.

“I should say that…I’m the luckiest woman in the world...”

Ji Hyo’s magical charm definitely worked on him, sending ultra-fast speed signals all over his body. His face turned red almost immediately.

Suddenly Ji Hyo turned to his cheek and gave Gary a peck on his cheek. Her surprise kiss quickly reminds him what he did today during filming.

“So this is how wonderful it felt…” Gary chuckled softly, making Ji Hyo embarrassed too.

He then gently tucks her fallen hair behind her ears. “You’re looking extra beautiful today, Song Ji Hyo.” He said softly which made Ji Hyo break into a smile.

The sky suddenly rumble with thunder and it started drizzling. The sound of the soft raindrops hitting on the window pane just set up the mood nicely. The atmosphere was perfect for something more. Adding on was the smell of Ji Hyo’s perfume…Gary could literally felt his blood rushing.

“Oh..it’s raining…” Ji Hyo turned her head towards the window.

“Ji Hyo-ah…”

Ji Hyo turned back and saw Gary looking at her, in an unusual way. His soft and gentle gaze that makes Ji Hyo’s heart flutters.

Gary reaches out his other hand for her chin. Holding her chin, he slowly leaned in for her lips. Knowing what comes next, Ji Hyo close her eyes and leaned forward. Within seconds, their lips met.

At first, it was a soft kiss, almost shy in a way, which greatly contrasted Gary’s overflowing love for Ji Hyo. However as time ticks, their lips soon move together in a sweet and but slow pace harmony. Gary’s fingers then ran through her hair and trailed softly down her back. He pulled her body closer leaving no gap between them. It was done without much effort. Ji Hyo slowly wrapped her hands around the nape of his neck…deepening their kiss. The Kiss...the first deep kiss they ever shared…after almost six months together, is the most magical thing they ever felt so far, where their senses are heightened, and their hearts beat together as one.

Gary starts to lean forward, with Ji Hyo leaning backwards…slowing laying her back on the couch. Their lips never break apart, still savouring the sweetness of each other’s lips. The smell of Gary’s cologne was still lingering despite it was almost the end of the day.

All of a sudden, Ji Hyo felt something indifferent down her body, which made her stopped kissing immediately. She quickly pushed Gary away making him shocked a little. It was a very sucky feeling to be exact for being rejected.

“What happened?” He asked timidly. “You don’t like—”

“No oppa!” Ji Hyo tried to regain her shaky breathing from the ‘vigorous’ act, as she tried to say something.

“I-I’m having my menstrual….”

“AH!!”

Ji Hyo’s word struck him immediately.

Gary quickly brushed off the rejected feeling but he quickly reached out for his phone and swipe on the screen in a hurry. “Ah! Oppa has totally forgotten that you’re only on your third day!” He gently hit his head.

“I’m sorry, Ji Hyo. Oppa should have known…” Gary said apologetically. “I shouldn’t have—”

Ji Hyo breaks into laughter seeing how worried and guilty his face looks like. “Aigoo…oppa…” She sat up right and cupped the sorrowful face of his.

“I’m sorry oppa, but I think you have to go back home tonight….” She said. “Because if you stay here….It’s going to be very hard for you and for me…” Her voice trailed off, because she’s so embarrassed to confess how she feels about it.

“I should be saying sorry….that I forgot your menstrual days…I should have pay more attention on it….”

“You are already the best one…what else can I ask for?”

“Arasso…oppa will go back home…You better rest early okay?”

“Oppa call me when you get home…”

They had an almost inseparable departure at her door, before he drove away. After the disappointing night, Gary went straight back home and did some sit ups and bench press…to utilize away his ‘excess’ energy.
